He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John William Cruse, Jr. and Margaret Dolly Gibson Cruse; his brother John Cruse; his wife Cheri Keener Cruse; his sons, Don R. Cruse, II and Clinton Cruse; and his siblings, Judy Dean and William Cruse. He was also cherished by 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson.
