He was predeceased by: his parents, Acy Garnet Ellis and Lora Louella Burns Ellis; his grandson John Ellis; and his siblings, Jessie Juniper and Dodrill Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Glenna Gipson Ellis; his children, Mary Hundley, Tammy Reichard, Gary Ellis (Melissa) and Terry Ellis (Robin); and his siblings, Bonnie Hartley, Mary Catherine Rhodes, Margaret Ellis, Lawrence Ellis and Leslie "Leck" Ellis. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; extended family.
