He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Elmer Spitzer and Lillie Mae Barb; his wife Evelyn L Bageant Spitzer; his grandchildren, Pam, John Bageant and Cory Ham; and his siblings, Janet Harding, Claire Delawder, Alice Wynkoop, Radie Dunn, Alfred Spitzer, Ray Spitzer and Clarence Sine.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rose Ann Myers (Larry) of Rippon, WV, Donna Fields (late Leon Fields) of Ranson, WV and Tammy Sokel (Brian) of Summit Point, WV; his stepson Kenneth "Butch" Bageant (Karen) of Bunker Hill, WV; and his grandchildren, Paris Sokel, Gavin Sokel, Ricky Sokel, William Corder and Cynthia Darlington. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home (310 S Fairfax Blvd, Ranson, WV 25438). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
