Lynda Mee Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lynda Mee of Ranson, West Virginia, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Johan Wood and Evelyn Charlene Richards Wood; her husband Carl Mee III; her siblings, Dolores Nell Wood, Ola Vanoy Wood Manley and David Richards Wood; her siblings-in-law, Anne Mee, Telia Bryars, Shannon Wood, Diane Stargel, Derrick Mee and Ladd Fields; her cousins, Charlie Fields, Walter "Buddy" Wood and Mary Edith Snider; her nieces, Madeline Mee and Carla Mee; and her nephew David Mee.

She is survived by: her brothers, James Burnette Wood, Roy Thomas Wood (Julie) and Joe Stargel; her siblings-in-law, Ron Manley (Sue), Mike Mee (Donnette) and Ellen Fields; her cousins, Dorothy, Armand Trottier, Michael Fields, Martha Hager, Chip and Alice Katterhenry; her children, Kathleen Dolores Mee Avins (Joe Avins), Heather Elisabeth Mee of Tyson's Corner, Eric Andrew Mee (Pam Perricone) and Alison Michelle Mee (John Freiler); her grandchildren, Evan Boundsmith (Aryn), Grace Pankl, Ruth Pankl (Dillon Murray), Samantha Zanvettor, Emily Zanvettor, Nina Avins, Carl Freiler, Maxwell Freiler, Paul Perricone, Frank Perricone and Lucas Perricone; her great grandchild Rowan Boundsmith; and her close friend Jef Berg. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Episcopal Church (208 W German St, Shepherdstown, WV 25433).

If people wish, a charity that meant a lot to Lynda was St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
