Shirley May Burriss Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley May Burriss of Ranson, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 6, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Aubrey Burriss and Anna Lucille Knight Burriss; her husband Elick Eugene Burriss, Jr.; her daughter Brenda Jean Culver; her great grandchildren, Brittany Hochman and Brenda Jean Culver; and her sister Mary Jean Whetzel.

She is survived by: her children, Judith Ann Burriss of Hagerstown, Delores Ann Burriss of Charles Town, Donna Kaye Burriss of Martinsburg, Crystal Lynn Burriss of Charles Town, William Eugene Burriss of Ranson, Ronald Eugene Burriss of Snow Hill and Christopher Joseph Burriss of Ranson; her great grandchild Kiara Desiree Burriss of Alexandria; and her siblings, Clifton Burriss of Westminister, Vernon King, Jr. of Martinsburg and Margaret Rhea of Walkersville. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jefferson Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes (114 N Mildred St, Ranson, WV 25438). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
