Monna Griest Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monna Griest of Ripley, West Virginia, who passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis Pauley and Caroline Pauley (Blake); her husband Raymond H. Griest; her sisters, Mary Alice Hess, Amy Griffith and Ruth Duvall; her grandson Michael Motes; her great grandchild Colby Kyer; and her son-in-law Ted Motes.

She is survived by: her children, Rick Griest (Candy), Carolyn Motes, Judy Gossett (Bruce) and Mitsy Hunter (Luke); her grandchildren, Joe Gossett (Paige), Jessica Sexton (Nick), Christina Gossett, Sarah Kyer (Josh), Ryan Hunter, Thomas Motes (Lauren), Kaylee and Kodie Griest; her great grandchildren, Isabella Gossett, Liam Gossett, Asa Gossett, Rylann Hunter, Clara Kyer, Lacey Hunter and Hadley Kyer; her siblings, Elmer, Lowell Pauley, Eula Pauley and Betty Ann Pauley; and her caregivers, Cheryl, Liz, Dee and Monna.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Monna's memory to Ripley Baptist Temple Missions Fund.
