We announce the death of Steven Eugene Lucas (Ripley, West Virginia), who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 77. Steven will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Eugene Lucas and Inez Delora Lucas. He is survived by: his sons, Charley and Wesley Lucas; his siblings, Jimmy Lucas, Kathy Durrett (Stan), Shanda Smith (Dwight), Barbara Andrew (Tony) and Robin Hull (Jim); Carol McLane, Lisa Rucker, Tamatak Snider and Sean McLane. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Waybright Funeral Home (511 S Church St, Ripley, WV 25271). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery (130 Academy Dr, Dunbar, WV 25064).
