In the sacred silence of farewell, Barbara Ann is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Barbara Ann's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Lee Poland and Samuel Hott; and her daughter Sandy Dodson. She is survived by: her sons, John Dodson of Austin, Douglas Dodson of Cincinnati and Rick Bane of Phoenix, Arizona; and her siblings, Earl Hott of Romney, Robert Hott of Michigan and Judy Hott of Missouri. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shaffer Funeral Home (230 E Main St, Romney, WV 26757). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to "World Central Kitchen" (wck.org).
