It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marietta Sharon Kuykendall of Romney, West Virginia, who passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Marietta departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Marietta. Though Marietta may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Miller and Viola Combs; her husband Roy Kuykendall; and her sister Regina Miller. She is survived by: her siblings, Judy Lewis of Romney, Robin Moreland of Romney, Bonnie Schulz of Indiana, Mary Johnson of Florida, Donald Combs (Pam) of Purgitsville and David Eugene Combs (Diane) of Delray. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Shaffer Funeral Home (230 E Main St, Romney, WV 26757). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
