He is survived by: his wife Kathy L. Winkles of Romney; his son Joel M. Winkles of Romney; his granddaughter Eve W. Winkles; and his siblings, Thomas R. Winkles (Flo) of North Carolina and Teresa M. Hershberger of Ridgeley, WV. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
