She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Pownall and Lola Pownall (Shanholtz); and her siblings, Geraldine "Gerry" Daugherty, Robert "Bob" Pownall and Norma Lee Clise.
She is survived by: her husband John "Splinter" Arnold, Jr.; her children, Lisa Roomsburg (Paul) and John Arnold, III (Trina); her granddaughters, Ashley Suddath (Luke) and Amy Rickman (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Lane, Kade Suddath, Briar and Chet Rickman; and her sister Barbara Jean Whelan (Bill) of Florida.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Shaffer Funeral Home (230 E Main St, Romney, WV 26757). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to a CNA appreciation fund to benefit the certified nursing assistants who provided Nancy with exceptional care during her time in the nursing home.
