She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Whitt and Hallie Seldomridge Whitt; her daughter Rita "Susie" Carter; and her grandchildren, Thomas "Tommy" North, Jr. and Katie Arthur.

She is survived by: her husband Charles "Charlie" O'Brien; her daughters, Deborah "Debbie" McClung (Scott), Sandra "Kaye" Lowry (Gary McDaniel), Cheryl "Sherry" North (Gary) and Lisa Arthur (Shannon); her son-in-law George Carter; her grandchildren, Jamie Wilson (Kendra), Chad Carter, Kevin North, Shelby Adkins (CJ), William "Wesley" Carter and Kayla Arthur; and her great grandchildren, McKenzie North, Alston North, Bella North, Mazie Wilson, Mather Wilson, Brooklyn Carter, Parker Adkins, Easton Adkins and William Carter.
