He was predeceased by: his parents, Mahone Brady Fitzwater and Glenda Mae Skidmore Fitzwater; his wife Alice Mae Johnson Fitzwater; and his brother Jack Fitzwater. He is survived by: his children, Karen Butler (Matthew) of Alderson, James Fitzwater of Scarbro, Duane Fitzwater (Heather) of Leslie, Timothy Fitzwater (Karen) of Rupert and Mahone Fitzwater of Charmco; and his sister Dinah Rose. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; extended family.
