He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Frank Phipps and Mattie Jones Phipps Bryant; his grandparents, Lewis, Virginia Phipps, Gordon and Georgia Jones; his wife Sherry Phipps; his children, Jason Phipps and Amber Tharp (Michael); his sister Freda Loudermilk (Timmy); and his grandchildren, Abigail Grace Tharp (Elijah Perkins), Summer Rain Phipps, Emily Shea Cline and Paige Kashola.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Rupert Church of God.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Greenbrier Valley Children's Home, 331 Seventh St., Rupert, WV 25984.
