He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Koontz and Gladys Koontz; his siblings, Clayton Koontz (June) and Carol Koontz; and his daughter Judy Belcher.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Koontz; his children, Laura Brown (John), Jeff Koontz (Claire Armbruster) and Karen Ekstrom (Jeff); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Golofeev (Lorento), Katie Charles, Michael Charles (Stephanie), Maria Belcher (Cory Stout), Max Belcher (Lesli Taylor), Tanner Ekstrom and Mason Ekstrom; and his great grandchildren, Alice Golofeev, Felix Charles, Hazel Charles and Marci Belcher.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeview United Methodist Church.
