She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Lawson and Willie Lawson Sr.; her siblings, Betty Elswick, Carolyn Powers, Brenda Fitzgerald and Willie Lawson Jr.; her aunts and uncles, Imogene, Ray Hudnall, James and Janet Lawson Elsie; and her daughter Teresa Massey.
She is survived by: her children, Jenny Strickland (Brock), John Strickland, Jose Strickland (Misty) and Louie Strickland (Monica); and her grandson Michael Ethan Strickland. She is also survived by great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cooke Funeral Home Chapel (2002 20th St, Nitro, WV 25143). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Cooke Funeral Home (2002 20th St, Nitro, WV 25143). A burial was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens (6027 E Dupont Ave, Glasgow, WV 25086).
