He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Lee and Ethel Maye Burgess Ward; and his brothers, Dempsey, Robert "Bobby" and Michael Ward.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Turley (Robert Foster), Michael Turley, Robin Ward, Timothy "Bo Bo" Ward (Sarah), Casey Ward, Gadge Lahey, Navanah Ward, Marcus Bruton and Robert "Ray Ray" Ward; the mother of his children Janice Ward; and his siblings, Ethel Barker and Harvey Ward. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; the love of his life.
