He is survived by: his children, Vickie Penner of Tuscon, AZ, Deanna McVicker (Jason) of Sand Fork and James Danny Self Jr. (Lauren) of Hillsville, VA; his sister Kathleen Thompson of Lumberport, WV.; his grandchildren, Michaela Davis, Molly McVicker, Justin Self, Cristin Self, Karen Self, Brooke Bowser, Seth Penner, Hunter Self, Levi Self, Arabealla Self and Annamoriah Payne; and his great grandchildren, Gunner, Kaily, Nevaeh, Jeren, Kennydi, Ellia, River, Jackson, Alizabeth and Lydia.
