He is survived by: his girlfriend Barbara Southern; his children, Dennis Stoops (Pam) of Sellersburg, IN, Coleen Callahan (Steve) of Melbourne, FL, Jennifer Vance (David) of Winfield, WV and Mary Poquette (Ryan) of Scott Depot, WV; his grandchildren, Caitlin Melson (Tony) of Indianapolis, IN, Meredith Hamilton (Eric) of Granada Hills, CA, Cameron Stoops (Emma) of Hurricane, WV, Jarod Callahan (Brianna) of Middletown, NY, Hunter Vance of Morgantown, WV, Nate Knox of Scott Depot, WV and Nora Knox of Scott Depot, WV; his great grandchildren, Atticus, Sybil Melson of Indianapolis, IN, Archie, Louie and Isla Stoops of Hurricane, WV; and his brother Bill Stoops of New Albany, IN. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. John United Methodist Church (4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, WV 25560). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
