He was predeceased by: his father David Allen Link Sr. David. He is survived by: his mother Joyce "Juanita" Athey Link; his wife Willa Jean "Jeannie" Dunn-Link; his stepdaughter Deana M. Burger; his grandchildren, Ellard "Keegan", Angela "Angel" Marie, Reagan and Harleigh Burger; his great grandchildren, Solana Nicole Sastre and Weston Lee Burger; and his brother Irvin Moore Link.

The family would request that in leu of flowers memorial donations be made in David's name to the Shepherdstown Fire Department or the Elk Branch Presbyterian Church.
