He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mays and Josephine Louise Barberio Barnes; his siblings, John Barnes, Jimmy Barnes, Randy Barnes, Judy "Mitzi" Andrew, Rosella Matheny and Mary Barnes; his parents-in-law, Henry C. and Catherine "Kate" Leasburg; his siblings-in-law, Deloris Barnes, Jone Barnes, Sally Leasburg, Shelby Leaseburg, Beverly Leaseburg, Kenneth Leaseburg, David Andrew, John Matheny, Eddie Leaseburg, Ron Leaseburg and Russell Leaseburg; his nephew Blaine Charcandy; and his friends, Jimmy and Jody Honce.
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Catherine Knapp (Shawn) of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Tristan James Knapp (Taylor Marie) of Bridgeport and Ryan Joseph Knapp of Bridgeport; his great grandchild Jace Thomas Knapp; his brother Robert "Junior" Barnes (Virginia) of Mechanicsville, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth "Bets" Barnes, Sherry Barnes, Ann Dotson (Sandy), Donna Flores, Theresa Leaseburg, Vincent Leaseburg (Dixie) and Robert Clise (Susan). He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
