He was predeceased by: his parents, George Eckard and Vera Eckard (Breedlove); his sister Sondra Jean Blubaugh; the mother of his children Janice Kay Eckard; and his pet Dude.
He is survived by: his children, Paige Andrea Mitchell (Shane) and Christopher Blake Eckard; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Rogers, Joshua Mitchell (Kaylie), Rebekah Mitchell and Sarah Mitchell (Zoe); and his siblings, Ronald Eckard (Norma) and Carol Garlitz. He is also survived by his extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In memory of his very generous spirit the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to any of his favorite charities: Short Gap Volunteer Fire Company (128 Knobley Rd, Ridgeley).
