He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Smith and Dorothy "Dottie" Smith (Green); his stepmother Wilma Smith (Muir); and his sister Debbie Vermilyen. He is survived by: his wife Karen Sue Smith (Welsh); his sons, Justin M. Smith (Krista) and Steven C. Smith (Lori); his grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Nia Blanco (David), Jaci Smith, Harper Smith and Chase Smith; and his siblings, Marilyn Nickelson (Steve), Pam Hansrote (Greg), Steven Smith (Tina), Norma Breitfeller (Frank) and Patricia Ford (Mike). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Upchurch Funeral Homes - Cumberland (202 Greene St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
