He was predeceased by : his parents, Sharon Kay Armentrout Weaver and Kenneth F. Short, Sr. (Gloria); and his grandparents, Charles Short, Eulah Short, Forrest and Millie Armentrout.

He is survived by : his wife Sheryl Carpenter Short; his children, Tiffany Jo "TJ" Short and Kenneth F. "Bub" Short, III (Pamela); his grandparent Jebidiah Gail Short; his sister Starletta D. Clevenger (Kyle); his brother-in-law Denver P. "Pete" Carpenter, Jr.; his parents-in-law, Connie F. Nutter and Denver P. Carpenter, Sr. (Caroline); his nephews, Brandon Cooper, Paul Carpenter and Dylan Carpenter; his niece Whitney Hammonds; his great-nephew Cooper Hammonds; his great-nieces, Maleah Bennett and Elena Carpenter; and his brothers, Randy Monroe, Dave Hawkins, Calvin "Junior" Alton, Chad Tierney, Fred Knight, Don Hinkle, Paul Ferguson and Mike Fitzgerald.

He never missed an opportunity to tell you he loved you and it would be his sincere wish that his legacy of saying "I love you man" would be carried on by everyone he knew. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required indoors.
