He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Childers and Rachel A. Childers; and his siblings, Peggy Adams (David), Beth Ashcraft (Mark) and William "Billy" Childers.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Shaver Childers; his daughters, Amanda Bunting (Matt) of Smithburg and Sarah Garrett (BJ) of Good Hope; his grandchildren, Collin Bunting (McKenzie), Carley Bunting, Donovon Garrett and Michael Garrett; his great grandchild Waylon Bunting; and his sisters, June Wilt (Ronnie) and Julia Childers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
