We are sad to announce that on November 15, 2025, at the age of 80, Jesse Lee Calvert of Sophia, West Virginia, born in Beckley, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Jesse McElrath and Anna Kaplya McElrath; her husband James Calvert; her daughter Julie Wolfe; and her nephews, David Martin and Dwayne Martin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer Hilgardner (Bob) and Jamie Kingrey (Todd); her grandchild Griffin Kinder; her son-in-law Donald Wolfe; and her sisters, Mary Veneri and Thora Sutherland.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Calfee Funeral Home (800 S Oakwood Ave, Beckley, WV 25801). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jesse's memory to Kanawha County Hospice Care at 1606 Kanawha Blvd W, Charleston, WV 25387 or Sophia United Methodist Church at PO Box 518, Sophia, WV 25921.
