He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Marvin Smith and Betty Stanley Smith; and his siblings, David Smith, Steven Smith and Donna McKinney.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Compton Smith; his children, Jason Smith of North Carolina, Kelly Smith of South Carolina and Aleigh Griffith of Beckley; and his siblings, Tracy Smith of North Carolina and Susan Smith of North Carolina. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one step great granddaughter.
