He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewell Simmons and Nola Mae Starcher Greathouse; and his brothers, Bernard, Charles "Pooch" and Roger Greathouse.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Stahlman Greathouse of Spencer; his sons, Richard "Rich" (Eleanor Wong) of Pickerington, OH and Rodney "Bub" Greathouse (Laura) of Ripley; his brothers, Jerry Greathouse (Jeri) of Spencer and Terry Greathouse (Debbie) of Spencer; and his stepsons, Ron (Susan), John (Julie) and Jeff Gandee (Carmen). He is also survived by four grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home (406 Market St, Spencer, WV 25276). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
