It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Deloris Cottrell of Spencer, West Virginia, who passed away on April 26, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Erna Larch and Minnie Rhodes Larch; her husband Oras Cottrell (Mick); her son Doug Cottrell; and her sisters, Reva Myers and Yvonne Good.
She is survived by: her children, Sue Simons, Kathy Cottrell and Mike Cottrell of Spencer; her daughter-in-law Diane Cottrell of Spencer; her grandchildren, Michelle Spears (Mike) of Spencer, Angie Simons of Spencer, Doug Cottrell, Jr. (Ella) of Looneyville, Shannon Miller (Joe) of Mt. Zion, Andrew Cottrell (Regina) of Spencer and Lincoln Cottrell of Fairmont; her great grandchildren, Alston Spears (Macklyn) of Waynesboro, Ashlyn Spears (Colin Greathouse) of Leroy, Emerson Simons of Spencer, Ezra, Ayla Cottrell of Spencer, Connor Cottrell of Spencer, Mason, Jase and Easton Cottrell of Looneyville; her brothers, Jerry and Ted Larch; and her brother-in-law Kenny Blackshire (Janie).
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home (406 Market St, Spencer, WV 25276). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
