He was predeceased by: his parents, Rene Burl and Ruby Whited Taylor; and his son Greg Taylor. He is survived by: his children, John W. Taylor, Jr. of Charleston, Ronnie Taylor of Charleston, Scott Taylor of Tampa and Robin Kelley of Eleanor; his sister Sherri Thompson of Montpelier, OH; his nieces, Lisa and Tracy; and his half-siblings, Everett Shaver of Spencer and Gwendolyn Jones of Nashville, Tennessee.. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
