He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Vagott and Elizabeth Doczi Vagott; and his wife Nancy Lea Mitchell Vagott. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Michael Vagott (Mishell), Vicki Elizabeth Vagott and Sherry Lynn Wood (Mark); his grandchildren, Jeremy Adkins, Deidre Doll, Amanda Adkins, Kara Maynard, Joey Vagott II, Haven Vagott, Jarod Mills (Chelsea), Rachel Davis and Rebekah Lynn Lamey; and his brother Nicolas "Nick" Vagott (Joan). He is also survived by many other family members, including many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Spencer (338 Main St, Spencer, WV 25276). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the M.E.A.L.S. Ministry of First Baptist Church of Spencer, a ministry that shares food, encouragement, and the love of Christ with people throughout the community.
