She was predeceased by : her father Benjamin Elbert Smith; and her sister Barbara Rose. She is survived by : her mother Carolyn Sue Harris Smith of Spencer; her sister Kathy Means (John) of Sandyville; her close friend Jimmy Hickman of Spencer; and her nieces and nephews, Bruce Means (Megan), Michael Means (Shavonne Wilson), Jessica Brown (David), Robert Cobb (Ashley), Dolan Drennen and Shellie Drennen.
