We announce the death of Bryan Wayne Schmidt Sr. of Springfield, West Virginia, who passed away on July 13, 2026, at the age of 55. Bryan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edgar Schmidt and Bonnie Jean Schmidt (Jones); and his brother Ronnie Schmidt. He is survived by: his caregiver Becky Schmidt; his children, Bryan Jr. (Tonya) of Cumberland, MD, Candice (Patricia) of Westernport, MD and Joshua of Keyser, WV.; his grandchildren, Tre, Gabriella, Trey, Layton, Zeke, Lexi, Abby, Taylor, Paisley, Harmony, Skylar, Addison, Vinnie and Jayden; his siblings, Bernice Schmidt and Rod Schmidt (Ann); his sister-in-law Beth Schmidt of Hagerstown, MD; his pets, Delilah and Big Mack; and his former student Terrance.
