With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jimmy Dale Mitchem of Switzer, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 14, 2025 at the age of 76. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wives, Sandra Mitchem and Brenda Mitchem; his son Billy "Poochie" Mitchem; his grandson Melvin Lowe III; his parents, Howard Mitchem and Nancy Mitchem; his siblings, Don, Ronnie, Freda, Frankie, Irene and Darlene; his significant other Lana Crum of Monaville; his children, Donny Plumley (Stephanie) of Barboursville, Doug Cline (Beth) of McConnell, Steven Mitchem of Switzer and Laura Mitchem (Craig Pennington) of Cow Creek; his daughter-in-law Shawna Marie Mitchem; his sisters, Dorothy Lewis of Ohio and Audrey Hilbert of Chapmanville; his son-in-law Melvin Lowe Jr.; and his close friend Ora Ray Evans. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Christian Fellowship Church of God (1896 Cow Crk Rd, Omar, WV 25638).
