He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Preston Hoover and Etrula Ruth Lantz Hoover; and his siblings, Jessie, Jack, Arch, Frank Hoover, Cheryl "Sis" Moore and Vickie Shreve.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Frances Sharp; his daughters, Rose Brown (Eugene) of Valley Head, Abbie Simmons (Marty) of Valley Head and Ruth Bachman (Keith) of Slatyfork; his grandchildren, Greg Arbogast, Amanda Balis (Wade), Chasity Markley (James), Jamie Mazzella (Carl), Megan Pritt (Ryan), Kymberly Bachman (Dillon Lewis), Josh, Scott and Zach Bachman; his sister Beverly Lantz (Leon) of Wheeling; his nephew Wade Balis; his close friend Trevor Balis; and his friend Bill Shaw. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
