It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Lester of Varney, West Virginia, who passed away on August 28, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Harris and Barbara Jean Harris. She is survived by: her husband Barry Lester; her daughters, Kristi Pack (Jason), Kaitlyn Simpkins (Thomas) and Kara Ledbetter (Joshua); her sisters, Reba Stafford (Bo), Sandra Freeman (Dwayne) and Lori Shellabarger; her siblings-in-law, Anna Lou May (Buddy), Jeanne Dotson (Greg) and Craig Lester (Ethel); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Nick Hager, Jackson Pack, Gabby, Trinity, Eli Ledbetter, Everleigh, Ellie and Kari Simpkins; her close friends, Linette Morrison, Jan Discenzo, Sherrilynn Cisco and Carla Davis; Kenneth, Frances Lester, Jabo Kinder, Nannette and Mike Hager. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, August 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Varney House (125 Mystery Mountain, Varney, WV 25696).
