He was predeceased by : his parents, Elmer R. Smith and Ethelyn Mae Coon Smith; and his wife Doris Marie Rumsey Smith. He is survived by : his children, Wendy S. Wright of Williamstown, Daniel J. Smith (Sasha) of Williamstown and Kristina M. Carr (Nathan) of Williamstown; and his grandson Alan Osborne (Christine). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, six step grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home - Vienna (3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV 26105). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
