She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil N. Smith and Viola Smith (Shockey); and her sisters, Beth and Sue. She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Sams of Vienna, WV; her daughter Dana Hillenbrand (John) of Montana; her stepdaughters, Michelle White (Roger) of Waldron, IN and Melissa Smith of Parkersburg, WV; and her siblings, Virgil Smith (Pat) of Arapaho, OK and Rose Stockman of Clinton, OK. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home - Parkersburg (403 7th St, Parkersburg, WV 26101).
