He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Hickel and Cloris Hickel (Thompson). He is survived by: his wife Linda Hickel (Dennewitz); and his sons, Gary Hickel (Erin) of Williamstown, WV, James Hickel (Kenda) of Raleigh, NC, Clyde Hickel of Walker, Mark Hickel of Walker and Joseph Hickel (Stephanie) of Walker. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; six brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Services and Crematory - Parkersburg (403 7th St, Parkersburg, WV 26101).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital.
