He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Clarence and Clara Louise Stephens (Satow); his wife Louise Ina Stephens (Sindledecker); his son-in-law James White; and his siblings, Russell (Lila), Darrell, John, Harold Stephens, Christine Moellendick, Pauline Doerr, Rosalia Hanna and Jean Piersol.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Michael C. Stephens (Sherry) of Washington, WV, Linda White of Washington, WV and Terry Tingler (Danny) of Mineral Wells; his grandchildren, Cathleen Life (Tommy), Amy Johnson (Scott), Scott Stephens (Brook), Leslie Smith (Roger), Timothy Stephens (Crystal), Kim Serra (Chad), Julie Wolfe (Tyler Bartley), Rachel Stephens (Josh Mitchell), Ryan Tingler (Brittany), Erik Tingler (Brie) and Josh Tingler (Kaylie); his brothers, Edward Stephens (Ruth) of Parkersburg and Dean Stephens (Janet) of Washington, WV; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth Stephens (Darrell) of Parkersburg and Margaret Stephens (John) of Akron, OH.. He is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
