He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbie Scott and Birdie Scott; his sister Jean Scott; his son-in-law Earnest Brady Brooks; and his son Jesse Joe Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Scott; his siblings, Dean Ratliff (George), Roger Scott (Gloria) and Ronald Scott (Amber); his daughter Sherry Brooks; his daughter-in-law Monica Scott (Joe); his grandchildren, Andrew Scott (Heather), Brad Scott (Jessica), Shawn Brooks (Elizabeth), Shyanna Brooks (Joe Adkins), Paul Brooks, Eric Brooks, Robert Scarberry (Courtney), Jenny Brooks and Zachary Hale; his great grandchildren, Abby Scott, Braylen Scott, Cooper Scott, Raelynn Brooks and Liam Adkins; and his friends, Tony Adkins, Teddy Adkins, Timothy May (Glenda) and James Napier.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Johnson Tiller Funeral Home (10030 WV-152, Wayne, WV 25570). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
