It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Sparks of Webster Springs, West Virginia, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Junior and Delphia Blankenship Sparks; his wife Susan Kopanko; and his siblings, Delbert, Charles, George Steve Sparks, Reva Dale Williams, Carolyn Riffle and Ellen Ann Sparks.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Barbara Ann; his children, Shelli White (Allen Mathes), Steve Pyle, Chris Pyle and Amy Richardson; his grandchildren, Savanna, Sydney, Andrew, Raven White, Jace, Khalessi Mathes, Brandon Sparks and Harley Nelson; his sister Ruth Clevenger (Darrell); his nieces and nephews, Timmy, Tammy, Joyce and Kevin; his great-nieces, Kristen Hamrick and Katie Lowther; and his close friends, Boone Hamrick, Teet Clayton and Junior "Papaw" Hines. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dodd & Reed Funeral Home (155 Mc Graw Ave, Webster Springs, WV 26288). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dodd & Reed Funeral Home to assist with costs.
