He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawrence Payne and Effie Mae Westfall Payne; and his siblings, Johnny, David, Philip, Romie, Delmas, Arthur and Karen Sue Payne.
He is survived by : his siblings, Betty "BJ" Humphries (Robert), Lemona Carpenter and Robin Payne (Kathy); and his caregiver Chris Howell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends.
