He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Matey and Emery Matey; and his siblings, Nancy Saxon, Arthur Matey and Joy Matey Yetman.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Mae Matey; his children, Eric Matey (Elaine) of Magnolia, Ohio and Renee Stokes (Wes) of Fort Mill; and his grandchildren, Erik Matey, Brayden Rich, Genevieve Stokes and Ian Stokes.
