He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Cooley and Gerthie Owens Cooley; his wife Angela "Ann" Cooley; and his brothers, Earsten Eugene Cooley, Thomas Harry Cooley, David Cooley, James Edward Cooley Jr., Henry Clay and Andrew.
He is survived by: his sons, Leonard Edward Cooley (Olivia) of Welch, WV and James David Cooley of Welch, WV; his granddaughter Samantha Marie Cooley of Michigan; and his siblings, Charles Ray Cooley (Debbie) of Martinsville, VA, Robert Lee Cooley of Martinsville, VA and Mary Ann Tawney (Joey) of Martinsville, VA. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church (615 Stewart St, Welch, WV 24801). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
