He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel T. Sr. Cannaday and Bernice Cannaday (Mason); and his siblings, Eleanor, Joan, Joel, Marilyn and Maurice Cannaday.
He is survived by: his daughter Toni Robinson; and his brother Richard (Brenda Cannaday) of Georgia. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
