He was predeceased by: his father William Griffin; his wife Evelyn "Pooch" Alleman Griffin; his grandson Aiden Theriot; and his siblings, Carl Griffin, Audrey and June Ellison.
He is survived by: his children, Harold D. Griffin Jr. (Linda) of Wellsburg, WV and Dianne Winski (Mike) of Camden, WV; his grandchildren, Kimberly Miller (Joe) of Wellsburg, WV, Dana Johnson (Dave) of Wellsburg, WV, Michelle Theriot (Brent) of McConnells, SC and William "B. J." Griffin of Wellsburg, WV; and his great grandchildren, Ian, Blake Theriot of McConnells, SC and Kameron Miller-Hickey (Brice) of Fairmont, WV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
