She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl N. Smith and Patty Elizabeth Smith (Farnsworth); her sons, Terry and Jerry Nicholson; her brother Michael J. Smith; and her nephew Lance Cpl., Michael J. Smith, Jr..

She is survived by: her husband Larry Nicholson; her children, Larry "Jr" Nicholson (Heather) of Washington, DC and Janet Lynn Nicholson-Sporka of Wellsburg, WV; her sisters, Virginia "Ginny" Swiger (Floyd) of Florida and Dianna Garner (Charlie) of Follansbee, WV; and her grandchildren, John Nicholson and Lilly Sporka. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a homemaker, a founding member of the Brooke County Veterans Memorial Foundation and spent a lot of time on the fundraising committee.
