He is survived by: his sons, Darrel Dean Nickels Jr. of Wellston, OH and Adam Dale Nickels of West Columbia, WV; and his siblings, Doug, Paul Nickels and Sharon Johnson. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
