He is survived by: his mother Bessy Louise Mattox (Coleman); his wife Edith Mattox (Patrick); his children, Michael David Mattox (Marilou) of Nashville, TN and Kimberly Mattox of West Columbia, WV; his sister Delores Long (Roger) of Middleport, OH; his granddaughter Emily Aiko Mattox of Blacksburg, VA; and his daughter Geena Louise Mattox of Las Vegas, NV..
In his memory, the family has decided to set up a scholarship fund to support Wahama High School students entering into a trade profession; in lieu of gifts or flowers, the family has requested donations for that fund.
